Non-Traditional Education credit is awarded to a student primarily for training or instruction received from a non-accredited institution, academy, seminar or work experience. NTE credits are non-transferable and may only be used to satisfy program requirements for an Associate of General Studies (AGS), Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) or a Certificate of Achievement (COA). There is a non-refundable fee of $25.00 per course. Students must be admitted to the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) to be eligible to apply for NTE credit. Generally, a maximum of 16 NTE credits can be applied toward the AGS, and the AAS, and a maximum of 8 NTE credits can be applied toward the COA. However, there is an opportunity to exceed the foregoing limit through application to and approval from the Vice President of Academic Affairs, in addition to the regular approval process. NTE cannot be used to meet general education requirements.
